THE PURPOSES OF THE OFFERING
To Support Global and US Missions.
We are a church "that starts churches" and a church that supports missions. This focus will continue as we have a great opportunity to assist missionaries around the globe who are reaching out to every identified people group, especially those in highly unchurched countries. Through cooperative efforts with other mission-minded churches in the Bay Area and North America, we are designating a portion of the Special Offering to support 3,000+ North American Missionaries and 5,000+ International Missionaries. In addition, we will be starting our support of World Vision's Widows and Orphans fund supporting those that have been personally affected by the AIDS Crisis in Africa. Plus, we will be supporting several local mission minded organizations that serve the homeless and low-income families and fight human trafficking.
To Expand our Journey Kids Ministry
In the past year we have seen our Journey Kids ministry expand exponentially. We believe that God wants to send more families to The Journey and we want to be prepared. Our goal is for our children's ministry to be the best and safest hour of every kid's week. To make this happen we need to expand our Children's ministry through curriculum, equipment and security
To Fund the 2009 Benevolence Ministry
Since 2007, our church has served many people at their time of greatest need. We want to be able to continue to come alongside of people in distress due to difficult financial times, a death in the family or a need for Christian counseling. We are anticipating and preparing for an increase in benevolence requests in 2009 due to the current economic climate.
